Spring Twists

Running late to my hair appointment, I dropped by a black-owned beauty supply store on La Brea Ave in Inglewood. They didn’t have many crochet products, so I reluctantly selected Spring Twists by Bobbi Boss. The curls seemed too buoyant and they only had T4/3027, a grey-like blond. But I didn’t have a choice, purchased the product, and rushed to my hair appointment.

Luckily, the style turned out to be perfect for spring! Those tiny, well-defined curls are bouncy and playful. I later bought a darker shade (1B/27) and replaced nearly half the blond across the top to help the weave blend with my roots.

The result is a sophisticated ombre. While the hair held up well even after five weeks, it was not well suited for the invisible “pull-through” crochet method, because the natural hair slips too easily through those loose boyant locs.
