The Pike Place Market & It’s Only Hotel

Seattle – We drove into downtown, easing our way through the cobblestone streets. The persistent sprinkle from grey clouds did not dampen our excitement to visit Pike Place, one of the oldest public markets in the country. We selected the Inn at the Market, the only local hotel in the area because of its proximity. We planned to stay in Seattle only for one day after our trip to Salish Lodge. The day would be dedicated to food.

Checking into The Pike Place Market was simple. We pulled into valet and found no wait at the lobby. Built in 1985, the six-story hotel had a relatively normal, modern looking interior. Our room was decorated in a neutral palette with shades orange and yellow. Amenities included daily room services and Keurig coffee makers. We had a dreary view of the courtyard, but pricier options offered cityscapes and waterfront views.

After checking into our room, we walked to the Market to explore.
